I bet you didn’t know that God was a master jeweler. Well, I am happy to be your informant that our God and Father is the best jeweler in the entire world. That is because He does not use gold; He uses saints to make his jewels. And there is coming a day soon when God will make up His jewels – you and me. Hallelujah.
Now, unless you are living holy, that last paragraph might fill you with dread. You most certainly do not feel like a piece of jewelry. Indeed, you might be feeling like what the bible calls dross. Dross results from sin and unholy living. You are afraid that when God will make up his jewels, He will not be able to include you.
And you are accurate in your estimate but our God is merciful. Even though He does not like sin, He loves the sinner and will not let you perish in your dross. That’s probably why God is causing you to read this right now.
You already know God is not interested in the death of the sinner, but that you will live. All you need to do is accept Jesus into your life and God will start to polish you until you are fit. Just surrender to Him and one day soon, you will be among us when God will make up His jewels.
Imagine! You will be a jewel of God. I hope you are as excited about that as I am. But even if you are not, don’t despair because the Holy Spirit will help you. You need His help because passion and excitement about the things of God do not come naturally.
God Will Make Up His Jewels With Believers
The bible says that King Solomon made gold like dust and that he simply trashed silver. Now, think of God; He makes His streets out of gold. That means, for jewels, He needs something infinitely more precious. And trust me when I say the most precious material in God’s view is the believer.
Don’t forget it was because of you that He sent Jesus to walk the earth and die. That is how precious you are to God – if you accept Jesus and become a believer. That is the only qualification you need when God will make up His jewels.
Naturally, His workshop is heaven, which means you must be there for you to be a part of His jewels. Are you living like one whose final destination is heaven? Is your life representative of the Kingdom of a holy God? Your pastor cannot answer for you, neither can your mother or father.
It is a question for you alone to answer. Particularly if you like the idea of being one of God’s jewels. Don’t let anyone deceive you that this is a topic we just picked out of the blue. It is a direct quote from the bible, the word of God.
In Malachi 3:17, you read that “They shall be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels.” That means there is coming a day when God will make up His jewels. And only those who are His will He make into His jewelry. Will you be among?
Careless Living Will Debar You
If you have been with us for some time, you know we do not believe in once saved, always saved. If that were so, the bible would not talk about the possibility of removing a lampstand from its place. In Revelation 2:5, we see “therefore from where you have fallen. Repent and do the first works. Or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.”
Nobody could say that any better than the bible. So if you are living careless, and your pastor does not say a clear ‘no’ he does not love you. He may love your offering, but he most certainly does not love you. Because, when God will make up His jewels, you will miss out. I pray that none of us will be found wanting on that day.
God calls believers His own; He owns you and brags on you. Do you recall how God bragged on Job? Well, He does the same for any of His children who lives right. He highly esteems every believer. Of course, that requires that you also highly esteem Him. Because if you lightly esteem Him, He will also lightly esteem Him, like Pastor Eli in 1 Samuel 2:30.
Saints Are God’s Jewels
As a corollary, God honors those who honor Him. ask yourself: how much honor do I accord to God? If my pastor wants me to do something that might not please God, which do I choose to do? This is a concept that Peter and John totally understood. They declared ” Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge.” They decided to honor God and God honored them in return.
Forget about the pastor for a moment. If your own heart tells you to something that God says not to do, do you go ahead and do it anyway? God cannot honor you and when He will make up His jewels, He will reject you. May God not reject any of us, in Jesus’ name.
There is coming a day that God will send His angels to gather us from all the four corners of the world. We will be gathered to Jesus Christ, the one we have made our Master on earth. God will call us His own and then start to make His jewelry.
God will pick and choose on the day God will make up His jewels. I pray He will choose you and me. But it starts with our making up our minds to live lives that please God. He will give us the grace to do so.
Maranatha!
