Whether we know it or not, every decision we make in life has a tradeoff. A tradeoff is one reason we reject the opposite act. We are constantly making choices, deals, and bargains. You win some, you lose some is one way the world describes our constant bargaining. Sadly, many of us make unwise bargains and suffer losses. But from today, you will learn how to ensure you make a wise bargain each and every time.
When you go shopping, for instance, you trade your money for something in the store. Some would argue that since you worked for your money, you are trading your time and effort for that item. It could be food or services; it could be a perishable or durable good. In each case, you ensure you make a wise bargain before parting with your money. However, there are times we directly exchange our time and bodies for something else.
A good example is a lady who sleeps with men in exchange for goods and/or fame. The “me too” movement is probably a result of buyer’s remorse in this area. As a girl, you may fail to ensure you make a wise bargain in order to advance your career. And later, when you look back, you realize your mistake and take the man to court. Perhaps; only God knows the truth. All the same, our point remains valid; don’t enter into a bargain that you will later regret.
It could be a young man who joins a gang for reasons best known to him. When he matures, he looks back on his life and regrets his unwise bargain. He discovers that the gang got the better of him. If you are such a man, from today, you will ensure you make a wise bargain each time.
The Correct Worth Of Your Soul
Whatever your particular bargaining scenario is, you remain in a good place. That is if you have not exchanged your most precious possession. Perhaps your mind flew to the diamond your loved one gave you when you heard of the most precious possession. Or it could be the real gold jewelry you received from your parents when they died. Some of us work and save hard to buy a house and that house could be your most prized possession.
Mercifully, none of that matters as long as you retain possession of your soul. What?! You are surprised to hear that an invisible item that shop owners will not accept is your prized possession. And you are tempted to stop reading. Please don’t stop because your Savior, Jesus Christ, said so. As was usual with Him when the topic was of critical importance, Jesus resorted to a question. What profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
His listeners, like you and I, must have been shocked, leading Jesus to ask a second question. “Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” Of course, He was still on the subject of the correct worth of the human soul. The correct answer to both questions is that one soul is worth more than all the world.
Therefore, anyone who loses his soul, even though it be to gain the world is a loser. However, because we often think our soul is not worth much, He had to hammer on it by asking again. Particularly because if you have that attitude, you may fail to ensure you make a wise bargain in life.
Unlike Esau, Ensure You Make A Wise Bargain
Ouch! The many foolish bargains you have made in the past now flood into your mind. Don’t worry, you are not alone and for this purpose Jesus was manifested, to destroy the works of satan. And every unwise bargain is a work of satan. The devil tried it with Jesus, wanting Jesus to give up His glory for bread and earthly power.
Naturally, the devil failed with Jesus but he succeeded with Esau, as you may know. Esau made a terrible bargain, exchanging his God-given position with a bowl of food. Sadly, many of us are more like Esau. But it does not have to remain that way. After reading this post, you can wise up and ensure you make a wise bargain every time. Your soul is worth more than even the biggest diamond on earth.
Don’t trifle with it and exchange it for temporal things. Why; it is for your soul that Jesus came and died. That is why, when satan comes to you with a deal, he is asking for your soul. He wants to take you to hell with him but you must resist. Once you appreciate the importance of your soul, you will ensure you make a wise bargain all the time.
Esau did not have the knowledge that you now possess and therefore he made an unwise bargain. The bible has this to say about Esau’s bargain. Afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected. For he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears. We shall not weep tears of regret, in Jesus’ name. But you have to ensure you make a wise bargain each time the devil shows you a deal.
Learn From Jesus To ensure You Make A Wise Bargain
The devil failed with Jesus and to ensure he fails with you, learn to be like Jesus. Are we saying you can be like Jesus in one day, even in one year? No. But study Jesus and aim to be more like Him today than you were yesterday. Plan to be more like Him tomorrow than you are now.
And before you know it, you are moving towards being like Jesus. And just as Jesus defeated satan and his temptations, you will too. That is when you can ensure you make a wise bargain.
Maranatha!
Amen Amen Amen. Powerful message. May we never exchange our precious souls for unworthy things. Thanks so much for sharing and God bless you.
