Bank alerts are great for preventing financial disasters but divine alerts are even better because they prevent spiritual eternal disasters. We love to set up and use those alerts that our banks encourage us to set up. Why? They help us keep tabs on what is going on with our accounts, good or bad. Unfortunately, we don’t have that same attitude to the alerts that God sets up and encourages us to use.
Take dreams for instance. If you are an average believer, you would freak out every time you have a bad dream. But if you develop the attitude of viewing bad dreams as one of our divine alerts, you will behave differently. Again, let us look at the bank analogy. What is your attitude when your bank alerts you that a bad activity has taken place on your account? First, you are grateful that the alert is there and active. You know that without that alert, only God knows how much damage could occur before you become aware of it.
Similarly, when you get a bad dream, view it as one of the divine alerts. Thank God for making you aware of what is going on before the situation has a chance to become worse. So, next time you see yourself in an undesirable dream, thank God. Yes, thank God for it because it tells you of your spiritual situation in time to make amends. It is one of the divine alerts that God uses to rescue us from worse disasters.
Physical Pain is One Of The Divine Alerts
None of us enjoys pain but you will at least welcome it once you finish reading this post. As a medical doctor, I can tell you that the deadliest diseases are those that don’t give rise to pain. Hypertension is one such disease and that is why we recommend constant monitoring of your blood pressure. Because since it lacks divine alerts, you have to set up your own alerts, so to speak.
Like yesterday, I remember a young man who came to the hospital several decades ago. All he had was a severe headache and we took his blood pressure and put him in a hospital bed. His blood pressure was roaring and unfortunately, it was too late. If he was suffering from a disease condition that have divine alerts, he might still be alive today.
My hope is that this lets you see how you can welcome and start to thank God for even headaches. Like dreams which warm about your spiritual state, pain warns about your physical state. God is a good God for sending us these Divine alerts. In the past, He used to send them through His prophets but now, He does so by His Son, Jesus. We see that in the epistle to the Hebrews, at the very beginning.
“God at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets. He has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things.” A word about this passage. If you know Jesus personally, you will not need a prophet. You will hear Jesus speaking to you about the things that pertain to God.
You Have To Befriend Jesus
The implication of that statement is that if you are depending on to show you divine alerts, you need to befriend Jesus. In this dispensation, everything divine comes through Jesus. For in Him (Christ) dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Stop cheating yourself by going to mere humans like yourself to explain divine alerts. You can have Jesus, who died that we will never have to die.
Simply submit your will to Him and He will start to let you into the secret of divine alerts. A lady had a bad dream and planned to go to the father in her local parish for interpretation. When she mentioned her plan, I wanted to know who gave her the dream. She knew and answered that her dream was from God.
“So why don’t you go to the originator to ask for its interpretation?” She hadn’t thought of that! Well, she did and God gave the interpretation. It is the same way with bank alerts. If you get an alert from bank A, will you go and try to sort it out at bank B? Not at all. But your prophets will deceive you into thinking they can interpret dreams they know nothing about.
Don’t fall prey to them and their thieving ways. Stay close to God through His Son, Jesus Christ. He will interpret all divine alerts. But don’t forget to first thank Him for even alerting you
Maranatha!
