For a while now, this topic of the divine password has been on my mind as I studied the book of Hebrews. But today, it came into sharp focus when I had to clear my browsing history and wiped out my passwords. For about an hour, I had to deal with “forgot password?” Yeah, I groaned as I got down to the business of resetting passwords across the board.
One of the apps even rejected and insisted I should set one that I have never used before. This incident prompted me to write now, rather than later as it is a reflection of our experience with heaven. Heaven too has a password, which I call divine password and unless you know it, access to heaven may be impossible.
Just as I was unable to access my files until I recovered the account, some may be denied access to heaven. But that will not happen to us if we have our divine password at the ready. Of course, whenever we forget it, we must be ready with the steps needed to recover it. By now, you are wondering what the divine password is, and here is what the bible says about it.
The bible says that we cannot understand, let alone believe that God framed this world by His words unless we have the divine password. Do not wonder that some very reasonable, even educated, people claim they came from some primordial ‘soup.’ Some even declare their evolution from apes and monkeys.
Would it not be better to believe that God created us? But just as you cannot access files without your password, you cannot access understanding and wisdom without the divine password.
The Divine Password Is Faith
I tell, you, some of these apps even asked for my name. Similarly, some may get to the gates of heaven and the angel will ask for their identity. Please, I beg you, in addition to knowing the divine password, don’t lose your identity to Satan or anyone else. But meanwhile, you want to get to the crux of the matter and I am glad to provide an answer.
Faith is your divine password, without which you cannot access God and all His goodness. If you want to understand faith, please find time to study the book of Hebrews. With the book of Romans, Hebrews has the most occurrences of the word ‘faith;’ 38 times each. That must mean something! If you understand both books, you know what the divine password is and, in all likelihood, you have it.
But here is the icing on the cake. By the time you understand even one of these books, you have spent countless hours studying the word of God. And that is what the Bible itself describes as the key to having the divine password. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. By the way, if you hear a preacher leave out the second ‘by’ he does not understand the bible.
Such preachers say “faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God.” Real Bible scholars know that the word of God itself gives you the power to understand the word of God. The very ability to understand God’s word is in His word. Consequently, the more you study it, the sweeter it grows. Try it soon and don’t let that accuser of the brethren stop you from getting your divine password.
Your Access To God and His Goodness
Most of us worship God for what we can get from Him and there is nothing wrong with that per se. Mercifully, God has not called us to serve Him in vain so it is okay to seek God’s hands as well as His face. A few, like Daniel of old, worship God for who He is, regardless of what He gives us. For those of us who seek God’s hand rather than His face, God meets your needs.
However, whether you serve for His face or for His hands, you will need your divine password. Otherwise, you have no access to God and all He represents, many of which we know. They are joy, peace, love, prosperity, and all the good things that come from God. Many of us forget our password and that is when we need the second attribute. The bible calls this patience and my patience almost ran out earlier as I struggled to reset forgotten passwords.
Similarly, when you lose your faith, you will need patience for it to be restored to you. We find that clearly outlined in Hebrews (which you will soon start studying, right?). It says “See that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” This means that in order for you to enjoy God, you need first faith, and then patience. Without those two in that order. You may miss out on God’s promises and kindness.
Set Up Your Account
I wrote this on the assumption that you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. But occasionally, when we try to log in, the app may say “we don’t recognize that username or email.” That means you don’t yet have an account with them. So, I am assuming you have an account with Heaven. If you don’t, your divine password is not even divine at all and you have to register afresh.
The bible is quite great in that aspect as well, not leaving us in any doubt on how to go about it. It says Jesus is the beginning and the end of our faith. The way you set up a divine account is to give your life to Jesus. Only then can you apply your divine password to access God and His greatness. Today, be sure you have an account with heaven and you have your password ready.
Maranatha!
