Perhaps you have heard the saying, mind God’s business and He will mind your business. It is true, but because we pray selfish prayers, we do not see a demonstration of this truth. In turn, we do not see the fulfillment of God’s promises in our lives. Do you know that God desires to bless us more than we want to be blessed? I can almost hear the disbelief as we read that last sentence, but it is true. Why else would God send His only child to die for us?
It may be that we pray selfish prayers because our shoes are truly pinching. Please do not hear me criticizing anybody’s faith. Why, I am still battling the development of mine. Trust me, we are in this together. But when we fail to mind God’s business by not praying for His children, we should not expect God to mind us. You see, God sees Himself in believers. So, by praying for other believers, you make God happy with you. You are, in effect, minding God’s business, and even when you fail or forget to pray for yourself, He still answers your heart’s desire.
That is the purest example of minding God’s business so that He will mind your own business. It is also the least expensive option. I also think it is the best. When you bring other believers’ petitions to God, you have a wonderful time at the Throne of Grace. God Himself prolongs your time with Him because He sees that you care about what concerns Him. Try it today. Make a list of two or three people whose requests you can present before God. If you know no one, start with the Heaven readiness blog. Pray for us that God will bring writers into this vineyard.
End-Time Preachers
Did you think our prayer request was selfish? I hope not because we need to pray not only for Heaven Readiness but for all who are crying in the wilderness. You surely remember John. His message included “the Kingdom of God is at hand.” It is the same with the Heaven Readiness blog and similar messengers that point our eyes toward heaven and the end.
And, the way the devil was against John is the same way he tries to block all such messages and messengers. We especially mind God’s business. Meanwhile, the devil wants you to be on social media and forget about heaven. Satan wants us to be so busy here that we never think of what will happen after death. Hence the need for your prayers.
If you let us know how the devil is obstructing you, we shall pray for you. That will be our way to mind God’s business and it will be our joy and privilege. There are other ways to mind God’s business, but none is as pure as a prayer from your heart. We shall examine a couple of them.
There was a time in my life when people referred to my car as the Sunday School Wagon. Giving my car up for Sunday school Teachers to attend conferences was one way I minded God’s business. If I tell you how He minded my business as a result, it might sound like bragging; I will refrain. You should find a particular way to assist people in your local assembly, especially one that does not involve cash.
Mind God’s Business in Your Local Assembly
Why do we not want to go to cash? It is because it is not the best way to mind God’s business. Money has a corrupting influence in the hands of men and women. It tends to turn men into liars. And that is not us saying so; we are paraphrasing the word of God. In 1 Timothy 6.10, God says that the love of money is the root of all evil. And you know that once men of God see money, they fall in love.
The Bible also has a lot to say about how you should not mind God’s business with money. If you do, the result is what 2 Peter 2.1-3 describes. “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness, they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time, their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.
That is quite a mouthful, but if there is no other way for you to mind God’s business, you can give money. However, the above passage says you must ensure that the one you give money to is not a false prophet or priest. The Bible says you should not follow such people because their destruction will surely come. Don’t be destroyed along with them, even as you believe that you are minding God’s business.
