This title may cause you to groan because you somehow suspect your obedience is not – cannot – be complete. “After all, we are all human,” is what your mind assures you of. Guess who put that thought there. Yes, the devil did it so he can continue to cheat you out of the promises of God since he understands what you may not know: God starts to punish all disobedience in your life when your obedience is complete. (NIV).
This is an exciting verse. You can earn your deliverance on your own. There is no need to seek out a so-called deliverance minister. Nobody needs to lay hands on you or push you while pretending you were slain in the Spirit. It is possible to obtain deliverance from the devil right in your home when your obedience is complete.
So, rather than go from one crusade meeting to another, seeking deliverance from the devil and his cohorts, ensure your obedience is complete. Rather than sit in the “we are only human’ alley, see yourself as supernatural, with God’s ‘super’ on your natural. Don’t forget, as believers, we are seated with Jesus in heavenly places, according to Ephesians 1.20,21. That is far above powers and principalities, which includes the devil. But that is for the one whose obedience is complete.
God Sent His Word To Ensure Our Obedience Is Complete
That last sentence reminds me of Mary, a young 5-year-old girl, who was about to be punished for her disobedience. Her dad gave her an instruction to bring something from the mantelpiece, and she just stood there. It took another person’s intervention to explain to the father that Mary did not know what a mantelpiece was. The light came on in her father’s brain. Mary was not disobedient; she lacked knowledge.
God does not want that to be you and me. That is why He took the trouble to send His word to heal our diseases and deliver us from all our destructions. Read that in Psalm 107.20 and let it fill your meditation. If you have not underlined it in your Bible, do so now. You will be glad you did, and the deliverance pastors who have been eating you as bread will be sorry.
We should be so grateful to God that He sent His word to ensure our obedience is complete, that we read the Bible every day. Of course, if you are in a hospital bed with both arms in casts or pulleys, you might not be able to do so. But as soon as the doctors let you go, start reading and make up for lost time. Because healing is in the word, even the doctors will soon be sorry.
Doers Of The Word
It is all well and good that God sent His word, but we must be doers of the word, not hearers only. Only when our obedience is complete does the word start to work for us. Healing comes and deliverance is automatic.
Please bear in mind that pastors are not always doers of the word they teach so diligently. That reminds me of someone who took the offering once during a church service. He went on for so long in mobilizing people to give a bountiful offering that he bored church members. It turned out he gave only a pittance.
That is what prompted Jesus to curse the religious leaders of His day, in Matthew 23. In that chapter alone, you see Jesus cursing them eight separate times. Jesus badly wanted their walk to match their talk. So, do not emulate your pastors. It may be that their obedience is not complete. Study the word, obey what it says, and ensure your obedience is complete. Leave the rest to God, and watch as His promises fall into your laps. Amen?
Maranatha!

Abba’s grace suffices for continuing obedience. Amen.
I agree with the author’s line of message. Jesus did warm that we should beware of false prophets. ( Matthew 7;15.
