Many organizations claim to be equal opportunity employers. And so they may seem until you dig into their payroll and find otherwise. Even now, many nations are in the fight of equal pay for equal work. And those are the more civilized ones. Others simply accept unequal pay as a fact of life, not bothering to look for a real equal opportunity employer.

However, we are happy to report that we have found one establishment in which there is no discrimination at all. In the area of time, God is the quintessential real equal opportunity employer. The Divine organization gives each of us exactly the same amount of time every day.

Now, what you do with your allotted time depends entirely on you. Just like what you do with your pay depends totally on you. That you have nothing to show for it at the end of the pay period is not on your employer. In a similar manner, what you do with your time is your responsibility, not God’s.

He gave Himself the same allotment as He gave you. What’s more, He utilized His time allocation in the most creative fashion, completing the world in six days. In the space of one week, God even found some rest period, which is more than we can say for some of us! Incidentally, if you suffer from burnout before you take a rest, listen up.

Learn From The Real Equal Opportunity Employer

Having grown up rather lazy, I always tended to leave everything to the last minute. That is until I read the creation account. It talks about the evening and the morning being a day. That turned the light switch on for me, I can assure you.

And this light was additional to the one that God commanded in an earlier verse. You may remember that light. God turned it on at the very dawn of creation for the entire world. Regardless of whether you learn how to make the most of your real equal opportunity employer to good use.

This was special. By it, I could see clearly that God, the real equal opportunity employer, started His day from the previous evening. What if I should emulate God? Would I have to rush around in the morning trying to get ready for the day?

How would my life change if I started getting ready the evening before? I decided to try it out. After all, it couldn’t hurt, even if it didn’t help if I started aping the real equal opportunity employer.

First off, you will be more organized since you will not be rushing late to meetings. In addition to the appearance of being collected at your meetings, you do achieve more. Being cool and collected definitely facilitates effectiveness, regardless of the forum.

Unlike the hassled one who comes late into the forum, you have already organized your papers or thoughts. By the time the meeting or worship starts, you are paying attention. And guess what, when you pay attention to God, He pays attention to you.

Even your earthly boss notices that you are truly present and participating. If he is fair – and you cannot guarantee that with humans – he will like that. Definitely, he should prefer the worker who is attentive to the one who is all over the place. And all because he failed to prepare. He failed to learn from the master, the real equal opportunity employer.

There is no telling how such a boss will reward a participating staff member but it cannot be bad. You are likely to benefit from learning from the real equal opportunity employer in other, more tangible ways. It may be on your payroll or in other areas.

Earthly Examples Of A Real Equal Opportunity Employer

In my experience, the UN comes closest to being a real equal opportunity employer. It writes its job description, appends a pay grade and advertises. Whoever gets the post gets the pay. It matters not the race, color, gender, creed or whatever.

However, even in the UN, there are discrepancies, depending on how your supervisor views you. One may schedule you for cushy travel, thereby boosting your pay with paid experiences. Another may ensure that you only get to go to the boondocks, making you poorer in life experience.

Not to mention the depletion of your funds through the medical treatment that you are sure to require. You may come down with water or food-borne illnesses. It may be a vector-borne illness that will send you to the doctor upon your return from such trips.

Whatever it is, you are spending money, instead of making money like your co-worker who is with a good supervisor. And that is just one area in which the organization can fail to be a real equal opportunity employer. There are several others.

But not God. He gives you your allotment of time and leaves you to it. God does not come around to attempt any manipulation of what you have received. He most certainly did not manipulate anyone after He gave them their talents. God minded His own business and allowed them to mind theirs.

The Way Forward With Your Real Equal Opportunity Employer

Of course, unless you know God personally, you may not wish to make Him your mentor. How can you learn to emulate someone you either don’t know or don’t like? No way.

Nonetheless, if you want the benefits described above, I counsel you to learn from Him. And then, we shall see you on the other side of an efficient and prodigiously productive life.
