At this point on this journey on our way to good health, we like to assume you are no longer full of yourself. We also like to think you have eaten Jesus’ flesh and drunk his blood by believing in Him. Finally, we assume that the implanted word of God is starting to take root in your life. So now, we can proceed to consider the fruit you produce from that planting. Remember, the seed you plant is the word of God and the soil in your heart.
If you have been here for some time, you already know this is a part of the series on Divine health. We started on this journey at the beginning of the year as a way for us to live long. And we do not want to just live long like Methuselah who lived longest without achieving anything. Our purpose in this series is so we live long enough to fulfill God’s purpose for creating us. We do not want to be barren but to show that God did not waste His time in creating us.
And that is why we are considering the fruit you produce. What sort of fruit are you bearing? Jesus, who is the living word of God, charges us to bear fruit worthy of repentance. What does that mean in the life of a believer? The fruit you produce after planting the seed of the word of God in your heart must show you have repented from your past life. You cannot continue as before and pretend you are a believer in Jesus Christ. After all, the bible says if we are in Christ, we are new creatures. Do your friends see you as a new person or are you still the same (angry or gossiping) type?
The Fruit You Produce Determines Your Miracles
Only you can answer but keep in mind that while some believers are miracle bearers, others are miracle seekers. Which one you are is a factor of the fruit you produce. If you are not producing much fruit, you are likely to be a miracle seeker, always running after others. What happens if you want the miracle of healing and the other person does not give it to you? Will you die or remain ill?
On the other hand, if the fruit your produce is worthy of repentance, you are likely a miracle bearer. You are the one to whom others run when they are in trouble or in need of a miracle. Please keep it up but allow us to share your secret with others who are miracle seekers. Yes, there is a secret to bearing abundant fruit.
I used to belong to a gardening community. The experts in our midst knew to remove stones, roots, and weeds from their soil. They used a pitchfork to turn the soil, thereby loosening it and adding air to it. Then and only then did they put the seed into the soil. So let me ask you before we continue. How is the soil of your heart? That is the meaning of the parable that Jesus gave of the sower.
The fruit you produce is completely dependent on the state of your heart. Is it hard packed without the pitchfork of the Holy spirit? Nothing will grow there. You will be like the stony ground in that parable of Jesus. The gardening experts also did something remarkable; they spaced their seeds widely. And the reason they did that was so the root will have space to grow.
Your Output Depends On Your Root
They knew that the fruit your produce is totally dependent on how big and deep your root system is. The novices amongst us followed their example and I produced such abundant okra that even I was surprised. What I did not realize was the size of the root of those okra plants. I did not know – until later that the root system was huge. When it was time to prepare the soil for the next season, I discovered it was back-breaking work.
And that got me to thinking of the fruit of the word of God in our lives. You remember those miracle bearers? I got to thinking of how big their root system of the word of God must be. Perhaps trying to uproot it also gives the devil back-breaking work. Maybe that is why he leaves them alone for a season to start performing miracles. Definitely, I saw that as it was with okra, so it is with the seed of the word of God.
If you want abundance in the fruit you produce, let the word of God sink deep and wide into your heart. Let it produce a huge root system in your heart. You will then be like the soil that produced a hundred-fold in Jesus’ parable. Part of that abundance will be finances but you can be sure that a good part of it will be good health. After all, God says in 3 John 2 that He wants us to proper and be in good health. Start today.
To your health
