Giving thanks is one of the many ways we can connect with God. The wonders of thanksgiving can not be over-emphasized. One of the wonders of thanksgiving is getting our prayers answered. With a world full of storms, challenges, and unimaginable situations, it is easy to forget to be thankful. Instead, if we focus on what we have, no matter how little it is we have a reason to be thankful.
Being thankful is a great blessing. Jesus our leader was always showing gratitude to God the Father. When He got to the tomb of Lazarus, He gave thanks to God that He always heard Him. You would have thought that He would have given thanks after resurrecting Lazarus but the opposite happened. And if we are walking like Jesus then we have to emulate his powerful example. The Lord Jesus knows what He will do trust Him.
Thanksgiving is a Lifestyle.
Thanksgiving should be a lifestyle where we give thanks and appreciate people always. The more we appreciate God and people, the more we receive from them. Even those who wrong us, we must thank God for allowing that to happen and turning it for our good. The reason is that if we trust the Lord and love Him sincerely, He will cause all things to work for our good that is why it makes a lot of sense to give thanks to God in all things.
Unfortunately, We don’t even thank Him for what we have freely received from Him and are quick to make our demands. A life full of thanksgiving is a blessed life. Thank You Jesus should never depart from our lips. Every moment, at every opportunity, let’s offer sacrifices of thanksgiving to God, and our lives will never be the same.
Answered Prayers Through Thanksgiving
Many prayers have been answered through thanksgiving. God is ever faithful and trustworthy so we can boldly approach Him with thanksgiving. Another powerful event recorded in the bible was when Jesus gave thanks before distributing the five loaves of bread and two fishes. Pride prevents us from giving thanks. An ungrateful person is a proud person and God resists the proud. It is therefore wise to humble ourselves and always give Him thanks.
Not forgetting those He uses to bless us. The more thankful we are, the more we get our prayers are answered. Never let a moment pass by without giving Jesus thanks even if you don’t feel like it. He gave His life for us so we must give Him thanks always and that will open great and wonderful doors for us.
Quit Complaining, Start Being Thankful
Complaining and murmuring will cost us but thanksgiving is rewarding. It displeases the Lord when we complain and murmur, according to Numbers 11:1. In this sense the opposite is true, it pleases the Lord when we are full of thanksgiving. This implies that a thankful person is full of faith and without faith, it is impossible to please the Lord.
We want to please God at all times so it is in our best interest to develop a heart of gratitude. A lifestyle of thanksgiving honors the Lord and the Lord honors those who honor Him. Thanksgiving is a game-changer, it turns our battles and storms over to the Lord. A thankful person will laugh at the storms of life or anything the enemy brings his or her way because it turns the battle and the unfavorable situation over to the Lord. Being thankful causes anxiety to cease.
Ways We Can Give Thanks
Thanksgiving comes in many ways and forms. If we want to experience the wonders of thanksgiving then we must train ourselves to give thanks always. One way of showing God we are thankful is when we praise and worship. It is difficult for an ungrateful person to genuinely praise and worship God. Giving is a powerful way of giving thanks and showing our appreciation to God. Let us offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and the Lord will bless us in ways we can never imagine. Let us give thanks to the Lord, for He is good and His mercy endures forever. Thank You, Lord Jesus!!!
