Unlike what we saw in a previous post, God was not testing me this time. You could say embracing the undesirable and the uncomfortable was second nature to me. This happened when we contracted a painter to give a beautiful coat to my house. Time was not on our side and as he delayed, the others around me started to panic. God helped me to stay calm as I counseled that there had to be a purpose for the problem. That faith and quiet confidence ended up giving me a beautiful delay.
A couple of days into the painter’s delay, the plumbing group came up with an entirely new plan. They would have to run our plumbing with surface pipes instead of the existing underground system. I wanted to know what that meant, in practical terms. It would require them to break portions of the outside walls. My brother and I exchanged glances as I gave them the go-ahead. Those exchanged glances were to appreciate God for being a God of purpose.
He had a good reason for delaying the painting job.
Imagine that the painter had not delayed; imagine if he had painted before the plumbers broke the walls. At the very least, we would have had to have another contract with the painter. But the way God did it, the walls were broken and plastered before the painter arrived. And because he brought a whole crew, the painting was finished on time and we experienced a beautiful delay. As we have observed in this series, everything turned out great.
The Beautiful Delay Taught Great Lessons
Secondly, imagine if God had not been on the throne of my life. First, I would have joined the others to lose my cool and become agitated. Secondly, they would never have had the chance to learn that God moves in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform. Our beautiful delay scenario gave them first-hand experience that God brings good out of bad. Or as the bible says, all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.
Remember that we are on our positive problem series, encouraging you to embrace every situation. It does not matter if it is beautiful or awful. You can be sure it comes to you from the hands of your loving father. That is if God is your father. You can relax because God will turn that negative situation around and joy will come. If this is the first you are learning of the series, go back and read them. They will transform your life and Christian walk.
Together with those who were with me, I learned that standing in faith never disappoints. But do not forget that what we are describing does not apply to the whole world. This good-out-of-evil scenario is one of those scenarios that God reserves for his children. Do you remember how the cross of Jesus became a crown? That is exactly what God does for his children. We can almost say that turning evil into a good situation is a sign that you are a child of God. It never fails.
Where Are You, Child of God?
Yes, that is the same question that God asked Adam in the Garden of Eden. He had wandered away from God and straight into the embrace of the devil. He failed to see that God is good all the time, whether or not you understand what is happening. Child of God, have you wandered away from God because you do not understand what is happening to you? Please do not do it! Otherwise, you will fall into the trap of Satan.
The devil is prowling around to see as many of such so-called Christians as he can have for dinner. While it is true that the devil must eat, his dinner does not have to be you. Let him find some other careless believer who does not understand that a beautiful delay can be from God.
Maranatha!
Jesus, the Bread from Heaven
Very powerful word. This is deep and only a few would understand. God bless you ma.
Thank God you are one of them. Hallelujah
